Customer case: Travel report

Our own app Reskollen was launched back in March 2014 and has since had up to 5,000 active users per month. The app helps travelers in the Västtrafik area quickly and easily see which departure they should take. The app makes travel connections in the background and then quickly maps these to the departure boards of the nearest stops.

An existing app that was previously built in the Xamarin framework was becoming difficult to maintain, so we decided to rebuild it in our own framework Appmost. The solution resulted in a significantly easier-to-maintain app, with the ability to easily expand with views, functions, and even a subscription solution where you can subscribe to more features.

By launching a redeveloped version, we were able to move away from the limitations that previously existed and instead build on a new, more modern foundation. This opens up future features and a longer lifespan for the project.

Part of the solution was also to set up a Firebase server that aggregates the data retrieved from Västtrafik’s API and sends it in a consolidated format to the app.

The app includes features such as timers, pagination, In-app purchases, API integration, on-boarding, GPS, error handling, Google Analytics, iPad support, and dark mode support.
